City Fills Economic Development Coordinator Position (Post Date: 11/1/19)
Camarillo, California – Following an extensive search, the City of Camarillo is pleased to announce the hiring of Georg Winkler to fill the position of Economic Development Coordinator, beginning November 12, 2019.
“We believe we have found an excellent addition to the City team in Georg Winkler, whose expertise in entrepreneurial ecosystems and business startups will benefit Camarillo greatly,” said City Manager Dave Norman.
Winkler comes to the City from the Camarillo Public Library, where for the past five years he has filled the role of Business Coordinator of the Russell Fischer Business Collection (RFBC), an extensive collection of online and print materials for entrepreneurs and businesses. The RFBC helps businesses thrive by providing not only materials necessary for their success, but workshops and seminars to help entrepreneurs turn principles into practice. “I am excited to join the City and welcome the opportunity to broaden existing relationships and form new relationships to grow the already strong business base in Camarillo,” said Winkler.
“Georg’s work with the RFBC and his efforts to manage numerous business events have fostered a sharing of knowledge in Camarillo and throughout the region,” Mayor Kevin Kildee commented. “His local ties and understanding of the needs of businesses will certainly be of benefit as he leads the City to retain, grow, and attract businesses.”
Winkler begins his new duties on November 12, 2019 and will partner with long-time Senior Management Analyst John Fraser on current and future Economic Development efforts.
