Animal Care Services

The Ventura County Department of Animal Regulation provides animal control services for the City of Camarillo. The department is available on a 24-hour emergency call basis to pick up stray animals or injured stray animals by calling 388-4341.
Animal Regulation will attempt to contact owners of stray animals who are wearing tags with the owner's telephone number, so always keep your pet licensed and tagged. If you have lost an animal, you must visit the shelter at least once every three days to look for your pet.
Animal Abuse & Cruelty
Owners or keepers of pets are required by law to provide adequate and proper food, drink and shelter. It is also wrong to beat or needlessly kill an animal, or treat it in an inhumane manner. Instances of abuse or cruelty should be reported to the Ventura County Humane Society at 656-5031.
Animal Adoptions
The Ventura County Animal Shelter is located at 600 Aviation Drive at the Camarillo Airport. Dogs and cats are available for adoption on a daily basis. Shelter hours are 10 AM to 7 PM on Monday, 3 PM to 7 PM Tuesday through Friday. and 9 AM to 4 PM on Saturday. The shelter is not open on holidays or Sundays.
Lost Animal
If you find a lost animal contact County of Ventura Animal Regulation. Stray animals are held five working days before they are offered for adoption.
