Christmas Parade and Santa’s Village Cancellation Announcement 

Our thoughts, like yours, are on the numerous fires in Southern California and the safety of our local community as we continue to deal with the State of Emergency in Ventura County.

It is with much regret that we, the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District, have decided to CANCEL this year’s Christmas Parade and Santa’s Village. 

This decision did not come easily.  However, due to a significant number of vendors and Parade participants cancelling their participation, fire impacts to air quality, a continued and extended Red Flag Warning until 8:00PM Sunday, the unpredictability of surrounding fire conditions in Santa Paula and Fillmore, and the closure of all public schools in the community this week, the District decided that these factors significantly weighed against holding this year’s event. 

We understand the disappointment that comes with this decision, and it is our hope that next year’s event will be held under better circumstances with full participation from the community. 

We wish to express our condolences to all during this trying time when so many around us have lost so much.
