CITY SERVICES
City Manager
The City Manager is appointed by the City Council, and is the administrative head of the City of Camarillo. As such, the City Manager is responsible for the administration of all affairs of the City, including ensuring that all laws and ordinances are enforced, and that all franchises, permits and privileges granted by the City are observed. It is also the duty of the City Manager to give direction to all department heads, subordinate officers, and employees of the City.
City Clerk
The City Clerk's primary function is as the custodian of records for city documents. The department also provides services to the city council, city departments and citizens.
Community Development
The Department of Community Development administers and implements state and local planning and zoning laws, the city's General Plan and Specific Plans, the subdivision and sign ordinances and assists in coordinating economic development activities.
Finance
It is the Finance Department's responsibility to account for all the revenues and expenditures of the city. The department provides utility billing for water, sewer and refuse services. It also administers the Business Tax Ordinance to ensure business compliance with city business tax requirements, handles parking citations, processes purchase orders, oversees the city's investments portfolio and provides payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable services.
General Services
The Department of General Services directs and provides program development, administration, and coordination of internal general operations. Areas of oversight include Information Systems, Facilities Management, and Fleet Maintenance.
Public Works
The Public Works Department is responsible for constructing and maintaining the city's infrastructure. We accomplish some of the work with our own people and equipment; the rest is contracted to private firms. In this way, citizens get the benefit of the best service at the least cost.

Fire Department
The county Fire Department provides vital functions throughout the city.
Police Department
Law enforcement services for the City of Camarillo have been provided on a contract basis by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department since the city's incorporation in 1964.
